iRock ("we", "us", or "our") operates the iRock mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

• Photos & Camera Data. When you use the camera or select photos from your library to identify rocks and minerals, those images are processed for AI-based identification. Photos are stored locally on your device and may be synced via iCloud if you have iCloud enabled.
• Location Data. With your permission, we collect your approximate location to tag the discovery site of identified rocks. Location data is stored locally and synced via iCloud.
• Identification Records. Your scan history, including identification results, timestamps, and associated metadata, is stored locally on your device using SwiftData and may be synced across your devices via Apple iCloud (CloudKit).
• Usage Analytics. We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to improve the App experience. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide rock and mineral identification using AI technology.
• To save and sync your identification history across your Apple devices via iCloud.
• To tag discovery locations on your identification records.
• To improve the App's accuracy, features, and user experience.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is primarily stored locally on your device. If you use iCloud, your data is synced through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure, which is governed by Apple's own privacy policies and security measures. We do not operate independent servers that store your personal data.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

The App may use the following third-party services:

• Apple iCloud (CloudKit). Used for cross-device data synchronization. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• AI Identification Services. Rock images may be sent to third-party AI services for identification. These services process images solely for identification purposes and do not retain your images after processing.

5. Your Rights & Choices

• Camera & Photo Access. You can revoke camera or photo library permissions at any time in your device's Settings.
• Location Access. You can disable location access at any time in your device's Settings.
• iCloud Sync. You can disable iCloud sync for the App in your iCloud settings.
• Data Deletion. You can delete your identification records within the App. To delete all data, you may uninstall the App and remove its data from iCloud.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the App. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
